I have a bleeding heart plant that I planted this spring. All summer it has been growing and looking great now its fading to a pale yellow, it has been very hot and dry here. But its been watered. Any help would be useful.

Mine always bloom in the spring and by late summer dries out. It should be fine, cover it with leaves and look for it in early spring :)

Thank you, I was hoping that it was normal.

Mine does this every summer (also being a very dry summer this year here in ND it faded fast). Every spring it comes back.

I have been growing bleeding heart in the northern Twin Cities suburbs for many years. They actually stayed green longer this year. They die back late summer but are early to green up in the spring (at least mine do). I usually cut mine back before snow.

Thanks TJ, I'll cut mine back after a good freeze or two.
