Are you referring to flax stalks, and you would like to make a roof covering out of them?
Could you braid them together and then set them on your roof, tying them down? Would that work?
Yes, I was thinking along the same lines as Annie, with the braiding.
I would suggest to wet the stalks first, to make them more pliable, then braiding together with soft rope or thicker twine.
