How can I cook two plates in the microwave at once?

I often have two dinner plates to cook in the microwave at once. I've looked around and can't seem to find one but I'd like to cook one plate on top of the other. How can I build the "tower" to do this? Or is it not recommended?

maybe but a coffee cup on the first plate and the 2nd plate on top.

I'd put water in the coffee cup so it doesn't get too hot. the water will evaporate and the cup can hold up a plate like apedastal.

Instead of a crafty DIY idea, here is a link where you can buy one! Okay, nevermind. Just copy and past this in Google and scroll down a little (cheesy, I know, but it worked for me)

two plate tray for a microwave

  • If you have a cover on the first plate, you can rest the second plate on top (also covered with some to prevent splatters.) The microwave cooks by volume and by the molecules in the food. Fat, heats first, sugar second, then water. As long as the dinners have similar types and amounts of food, you should be okay. Just use caution as with all microwaved food. This is an example of the kind of cover I am talking about (bought mine at Ikea for $.99). My microwave actually came with a removable rack just for the purpose of heating in levels.

PUT ONE PLATE IN THE MICROWAVE AND

PUT A COFFEE CUP BESIDE IT AND PUT ONE PLATE ON TOP OF THE CUP

put another plate face down over the first and put the second on top of that.
