I use a general metal polish, but you can actually use ketchup!
I sell a lot of stuff on Ebay. I use white toothpaste (not gel) and a damp toothbrush. For large items I use a damp cloth. Also works on copper, silver, gold, jewelry, porcelain, ceramics, sneakers, plastics, etc. For my sales I needed one product for cleaning everything. A dab of toothpaste on a damp toothbrush and gently brush letting it foam up. Rinse and wipe.
Some people use ketchup to clean copper. May work on brass.
Here several methods:

To remove tarnish from brass, dip a lemon slice or rind in a little salt and rub it on the object. Then clean and dry with paper towels. Add a little ammonia to a soap-and-water solution to clean these metals. Apply with a soft paintbrush or rag, then rinse and wipe dry.
I’ve used ketchup and aft rag before.
Ketchup and a rag works great.

Mix together 1/2 cup of vinegar, a teaspoon of salt, and a sprinkling of flour until it forms a paste. Spread the mixture on the brass and allow it to sit for a few minutes. Rinse with cool water and dry. (This method also works on corroded brass.)
