Use a tube of Blistex or other lip balm. Rub it over the zipper then open and close a few times to distribute it evenly.

To make a zipper slide easier and more smoothly, you can rub several household items directly on the zipper, such as a graphite pencil, candle wax or a bar of soap, to lubricate contact points and prevent the zipper from getting stuck.
To help unstick your zipper, you can add lubrication to the zipper teeth using chapstick, crayon wax, the end of a graphite pencil, petroleum jelly, and other waxy products or lubricants. For all of these uses, make sure to do a spot test to ensure that the material you’re using won’t permanently stain the fabric.
Beeswax or bar soap rubbed on the teeth.
Crayon wax, candle wax, anything waxy. Petroleum jelly might get on your clothes, so use sparingly until the zipper moves freely.
You can rub a candle along the zipper to help it glide better.
Hi Ruthie, you can use a graphite pencil. Just rub it along the inside and outside of the zipper and the teeth.
