How to I find a 'comforter' to match Duvet Cover?
I saved a Duvet cover because I like it so much! I would have bought another; but they've been discontinued.
I'd like to find a 'comforter' lightweight' that will fit or best fit the dimensions of the duver cover which is 68"W x 82"L. It's hard to find one in that width!!!
Any advice? Thanks

I always check with Overstock.com when looking for something like this.
Looks like this is a sewing challenge fot you. I could not find that exact size you are looking for. I would suggest you get a fiber filled comforter that can be trimmed to fit your duvet cover or if you cannot find one, go to the closest size comforter and sorry to say, use it without the cover until you can find or make one.
It would be easier to alter the dimensions of the duvet cover, rather than attempt to sew a comforter to fit its size.
I am wondering though about the dimensions of your duvet cover, and if it is the size that best fits your bed? According to standard bedding measurements, 68'W x 82"L is closest to a Twin Size. Do you consider your bed to be a Twin size? Did you measure seam line to seam line? Could the duvet cover have shrunken a little due to having been washed already.?
Please post a picture of your duvet cover so that we can see what color/pattern you are searching for in a matching lightweight comforter.
Go to amazon.com and enter the relevent info into their search bar. You should get severeal hits on that.
Betsy’s idea is a good one so maybe try a dry cleaner who does alterations. Bedding is sized by standards so it would be tough to find an unusual size. You could try sites online by typing in the dimensions for a search.
Find someone in your area who sews and ask them to make you one. Or you could just start over and look for a comforter and duvet cover you like - I couldn't find the size you were wanting so looks like someone will have to make it for you
You can try to check amazon.com or Overstock.com.
Hi Trudi, those measurements sound similar to a double or full size comforter, you can pick up a light weight one at Walmart or online. Hope this helps you.
Wayfair has some beautiful comforters so does Ikea.
I apologize for this question. I remeasure the duvet cover and it's more like 80" x 82" ...not sure where I got the first measurements from!!!
Thanks for your feedback.
I purchased a plain white one on Amazon for my duvet.
Hello, Try Ebay, They may have just what you are after.
Perhaps you can find one you like thats larger and get it re sized to fit you cover....
The comforter should be smaller than the cover by 1-2". Try Macy's.
Instead of matchy matchy why not go for coordinating colors. I have seen beautiful beds where the pillow cases are one color, sheets another and quilts and comforters another color. If you have curtains or drapes incorporate that color. Have fun with it.
Hi Trudi, I was just on Wafair and thought of you, they are having their BIG duvet sale this week. Go check it out.
Look for it on EBAY and other venues that sell pre-used items.
I've had good luck with West Elm on bedding.
Hello that can be a hard one-tricky unless you want to buy a sheet and make a custom set.
