Making a modern in/out bill organizer, any ideas?

We are about to move into our new built home and I want something to keep bills organized. I hate 'stick em on the fridge' or in an in/out tray as my husband keeps suggesting. We will have a brand new modern home I want something to suit it. Thanks.

  • I have 3 trays, one is bills, one for magazine and grocery store flyers/coupons and the last for all other mail. Whatever you end up doing, just find a system that suits the both of you and keeping in line with your decorating style. May take a few tries but will make your life easier in the long run.

Try walking around the desk organization area in a Staples/ office supply store. I ended up with a rack and folders.

I have a folder in my desk drawer for unpaid bills, which I empty and pay once a month. Husband has a cubby in his roll top desk for his. You could get a basket and put it in your cupboard and note when the bill is to be paid on a calendar. Or get a two drawer file cabinet and put a folder for bills in there.....the file cabinet will fit in a closet if you don't want it showing in your house.

If you're crafty, get an old used shutter from an old house window, ATTACH a piece of wood to the back to keep the mail from falling thru & paint it. Hang it on the wall. Using either white mailing labels or paint marker, label which slot will be used for what.
