Many Companies want to add blown in insulation "for Free".

My Neighbors had this done. I asked them if the contractor had also installed blocking panels to prevent the soffit from being covered and limiting air flow to the attic. Most of my neighbors said they did not know if it was done nor what I was talking about. Why are these tax driven contractors allowed to do this kind of shoddy work?

It's always best to look into anything anyone is offering to do free. So sorry this happened to you.

  • Most people are easily taken, do not do their homework and believe almost anything. I agree about the shoddy work, ought not to be allowed but unfortunately it is the way things are these days. I am way old fashioned in some respects and just use common sense. I feel sorry for those that get ripped off.

Martha Oberley - First contact the company and have them explain their program and installation procedures. ASK YOUR QUESTIONS. Photograph your attics and area of concerns. Blocking soffit air flow will add to your heating and cool energy bill and cause damage too.

luckily, I was unaffected. our neighbors may be in limbo, we'll see how their roofs hold up. I often wonder why a news reporter can help hapless folks, but Gov. agencies seem to be no where around or very difficult to contact.
