Any suggestions for thread storage?

I need more thread storage, and want it displayed!
I have this small iron metal board, and want to transform it to hold my threads.
It hasn't come to me. Does anyone have an idea?
I'd like to use most of this board.
Thanks in advance!

I would use a heavy florist wire to twist around the cross joints to make a "peg". I would use a plier to bend back the tips. If you can find them, you could get the little plastic caps (used to repair dishwasher wire racks) and put over the ends of the wire pegs.

Try pegboard pegs and see how they work with the spacing of the holes. If they work you can get quite a lot of thread on your board, especially with longer peg hooks.

  • you could use drapery pins (depending on the size of the spools)

I would use drapery hanging pins - the type used on pleated drapes. One side of the pin will fit snugly onto the metal. The other side could hold your thread. This ironing board would also be a great piece for storing jewelry using this method.

What a great idea for the jewelry holder. I'm not sure how it will hold my thread, as most holes are smaller, but I'll check it out. I wanted to hang this on the wall, so I'll see also if it will hold up. Thank you so much for the suggestion.

Oh Yeah! Use heavy duty glue.

Found this idea online. Seems like they used small round foam pieces and glued in wood sticks to hold the spools. Pretty neat!

This is how I would love to do it. Between this and reply post below from Allinthefamilysingers, saying to fix a board on it, maybe the way to go. Thank you.
