Pinto Beans...

I soaked too many pinto beans over night so I left a bunch of them sitting in the strainer for a few days while figuring out what I was going to do with them...well, they have all started sprouting green and I am wondering if I can plant them??? Is it too late in the year to put them outside (I live in Maine) and if so, can I store them after they have started sprouting or do I HAVE to plant them? Thanks

I'm not sure it would ever be a good time to plant pinto beans in Maine—they need a long, hot summer—but you're certainly too close to a frost to do so now. I think you should probably just use the sprouts in a salad or stir-fry.
