My mom has Crete Murtke trees in her yard. One of them has pecan branches growing within the Crete Murtle. How can kill the pecan root without damaging the Crete Murtle?

You could cut the trunk of the pecan tree off, drill holes in the stump and add salt to the holes.
I don't know if the salt from that would effect the other tree but it seems to be the best option.
I can't imagine the salt could be good for the remaining tree. I would find a local arborist and get their advice.
The salt would be the best option. if you drill holes in the pecan stump and add salt in the holes it shouldn't affect the crepe myrtle.
snip them off as low as you can go and leave the the other part of the tree there what you can’t get out
Cut it back slowly would be your best bet. It will be a slow and tedious task.
