What are pros and cons of copper plumbing in a house?

I'm house hunting and found a house built in 1957 that I like, but it has copper plumbing installed about 10 years ago. I'm more accustomed to PVC and not familiar with copper.

All I can say is copper is king, lasts the test of time. My parents house has copper, built in the '50's, still good. The newer stuff has been rated well, but has not been out long enough to me, to be 'tried and true'.

Thanks so much Clay. It helps to have first-hand experience with something and I appreciate your input.

Copper is excellant. Has been around for ages as Clay B says. Replaced old gal pipes in OZ years ago, and is still preferred here.
