They're coming...HUGE heating bills. These 3 insulation tips could help. Plus, they're easy and not that expensive.
DIY spray foam insulation like Great Stuff is easy to use. You can fill in any gaps or cracks and immediately feel the difference.
Here are some places to use it
-sill plates
-HVAC vents in unfinished spaces
-TV cables entering homes
-around plumbing pipes
You can also insulate rim joists in crawl spaces or basements. This will help keep your house a lot warmer.
The last tip is to use electrical foam sealers on exterior outlets or switches. Believe it or not you can get some drafts from these little guys that add up across your home.
Hope these tips help :D
Cheers,
Jeff

Andre Beluchi on Jun 21, 2016What a fascinating fact to know that you can use spray foam for TV cables entering homes. Reading that reminded me of my father's home and how there are open TV cables in his house. I'll probably have to tell him about using spray foam to cover the cables. http://www.sprayfoamdistributors.com/?page_id=27
