Try a pint of Freon. If that doesn’t solve the problem and you are not a licensed HVAC person, call a real HVAX person and watch if you are allowed. ☺️

If you are talking about a window air conditioner, then check and see if it is draining properly to the outside, a clogged hose or no place for the condensed water to go can create this problem. Make sure the filter is clean and has good airflow, we have had the filter actually stuck to the ice. The filter should not be a heavy duty one like the dust/allergen ones, this might restrict the air flow too much. Also make sure you have the right amount of coolant in it. Another thing is to lower the temperature gradually, not a sudden drop to the coldest setting which would make it run continuously.
