How to remove hot water radiator during renovation and put back later?
I am currently gutting and completely renovating out main bathroom. It is small 8’X5’. I have a small hot water radiator that I really need to take out during the reno, to facilitate the new rub going in and laying the new ceramic floors.
the system is hot water and one continuous loop for the entire house. I can shut off the feed but not sure how to empty the radiator and how to return it to service when the reno is done.
I believe there should be an additive in the system - how do I replace that?
Thank you in Advance,
Dan Chambers

shut off the water, cut the pipe and cap it. When you are done reattach. Great radiator. Gives the best heat. Glad you aren’t replacing with base board!!
Most hot water heat systems have anifreeze in them.

I never had to add anything to my boiler when I had radiators. You shouldn’t have to cut the pipe as it should unscrew. To drain the radiator, you’ll want to put it in a bin or a big trash can to carry it outside to drain it. You don’t want water all over the floor.
