I have a small one floor home 660 square feet in New York State. It has a crawl space 3’ high and an open attic gable roof. presently heated with hot air metal ductwork and oil Tank in crawlspace. The crawlspace was flooded after previous owner left home unheated. I am concerned about ductwork having mold. My question is what type of heat system should I have installed Or should I just replace ductwork. Downdraft furnace is on the first floor.
floor and crawlspace is not insulated. Attic has 3” of insulation between ceiling joists. House built 1954. The year I was born.

If you can afford it, cast iron baseboard. The materials alone will run over 50 per foot plus the cost of the boiler, installation is gonna be expensive too. This is the most even heat system and it can be fired by gas or oil. Radiant floor heat is also a good source of heat, but it is best under certain types of flooring. The least expensive way to go would be hot air, but you already know about that one. Because your ducts run thru an unheated crawl space they should be insulated.
