This happened to my refrigerator a couple of weeks ago. We unplugged it for 24 hours and when we plugged it back in it started working perfectly again.
You should remove the bottom plate in front of the refrigerator and look to see if the coils are covered with heavy dust, that will certainly make it not cool and could lose the refrigerator completerly. The stores have a very slim long handled brush for you to run under the refrig to get the dust off(careful) and this will let the coils breath and work again. Pull refrige away from the wall if you can and vacuum or sweep from there too. The idea is to get whatever dust away and from under the refrig as possible so it can breath, should be done 2 times a year, but many of us don't do it. Good luck..

This just happened to my mother and when she turned it off and reboot it, it was fixd. the repair man said its not uncommon in the summer when theres a big strain on electricity with lots of people using airconditioners and the like- good luck :)
