How can I remove/repair scratches to a stainless steel refrigerator?

The brand Rejuvenate makes a kit especially for this. I used it on my dishwasher, worked great. Got mine at Home Depot.

Your contractor is liable. I would make him responsible.

I would first call the manufacturer and ask them if they sell new face-metal for your fridge. Explain to them what happened. You must talk to Technical Support, not Sales.

Another possibility is a body shop might be able to re-sand this mess, but ask the manufacturer what exactly is the composition of that stainless.

My experience has been there’s not only junk stainless (it rusts) on appliances, but it also can be aluminum that is anodized to look like stainless. Aluminum is very soft.

Contractor ruined it, contractor can replace it. Place a claim with his insurance company. Get yourself a new fridge on his dime. That's just unconscionable. In this day and age, he should have known better and properly protected and covered any appliances, counter, etc. Don't let the lazy uneducated guy off the hook.

Using specialized cleansers, scratches on stainless steel can be removed. To apply to the metal, mix the dry powder they contain with water. Consult the maker of your device first, as some have unique cleansers of their own.

Send an Invoice to the Contractor and claim for having your fridge Repaired/New Door.

Bring the contractor back and have him either repair or replace.
