Below the glass plate it's all rusty next to the wheels to turn. Is it okay to use the microwave for the rest or not?

I tried vinegar and water but the thick scale does not budge. Any suggestions.
Try using vinegar on a cloth with a rough surface, they say vinegar and aluminum foil is good for getting rust off. But you don't want any residue of the aluminum foil in a microwave.
You could get some paint they sell for bbq but I think the paint would be more then the microwave is worth it might be a good idea to get another microwave because of paint fumes maybe going into food.
the same thing happened to my micro! I tried cleaning, etc. and finally trashed it and bought a new one.....hope you can find an easier way.
Start saving for a new Microwave! I would be afraid if the metal is breaking down. To avoid this, leave the door cracked open after use to allow Microwave to air dry. If you are impatient you can use a paper towel to dry it.
