My son rents a basement apt in a house-- dishwasher help

the bottom panel of the old dishwasher has been missing always--and exposes yucky floor --the landlord has promised for 2 years to rectify--nothing so far--He pays cheap rent and doesn't want to make waves with her--any temp solutions to this ugly site?

    You could cut a piece of baseboard trim, or simply a piece of wood, and slide under the dishwasher to cover the exposed part of the floor. Or, check craigslist for people giving away dishwashers (there are usually a lot, at least in our area!) - you could take the dishwasher base panel off one of those and its free

    also might check junky used appliance reycylers..the ones up pick-up old used ones..I;d get the model info.... from inside panel, usually the door, and a photo..If no luck I'd cut a piece of plywood. paint it and put insulation on the side facing inside as a sound barrier..
