How can I repair a shattered black glass stove top approximately 3 inches by 3 inches on a non electric burner edge

Is it a clean cut or did shatter in pieces? Does the spot get hot from heat?
It is a shattered area in very small pieces and does not get hot from heat. Size is 3"X3" on the corner edge away from a burner.
Best solution I have is use a two part clear epoxy and force it into the cracks with something plastic like an old credit card. Wipe off the excess with nail polish remover.
