How can I repair cracks in my bedroom ceiling with some kind of paint?

A ceiling in one of my bedrooms needs repainting really should be plaster first but ny budget is limited so i wondered if there was a paint with some kind of texture ib it to cover small cracks. Thanks

Joint compound isn't very expensive so you will probably be better off to fix it and smooth with a damp sponge before you paint.

Hi Carolyn, You can mix some joint compound in with the paint which will make it a little thicker and give it a little texture which would cover small cracks.
Yes, you can purchase a paint that has texture in it. It would be best to go over the cracks with a caulk that can be painted or a drywall spackle depending on how wide the cracks are. Be sure to prime the ceiling first before applying a final coat of paint.

There is no paint for it. You have to use a skim coat of compound
