If they're small, you can just spackle over them.
Stuff some paper inside to fill up the air space. Keep stuffing it until it's close to the surface and then spackle over it.
You can cover them with thin coats of drywall compound and then sand smooth

Make sure and loose pieces are level with the wall. Use a no shrink drywall patching compound to fill the hole. Let dry overnight. Next day take a damp sponge and smooth over the surface.

Those are small holes so drywall spackle will work great!
Spackling and a putty knife. Smear across to fill. Let dry. Sand. Paint touch up.

Those are small enough that you could use wood filler. Let the wood filler dry after you add to the cracks. Sand it when it dries and then paint over it.

Use Spackle or Polyfilla and a wallpaper scraper. Over fill holes and when really dry, rub down flush with sandpaper.

Get a small quick dry version of drywall mud. You might need a few applications to get it filled in because those are deep. Apply and dry, then reapply and repeat until flush. Then wipe with a damp cloth or sponge if you don't want to sand. Then you can paint.
