That looks small enough for a little spackle, sanding and paint.
I would fill it with sparkle, sand it, and re-paint the area.

I agree with sanding the rough edge off first, put in spackle, sand again, prime and paint.
Compound sand paint
Make sure the edges are even and smooth with the rest of the wall. Fill with no shrink drywall patching compound. Prime and paint.
Yes spackle and a little sanding will do the trick but did you know if you don't have spackle you can use a mixture of cornstarch and water. It can make a thick paste..apply and dry then sand. It's something most of us have on hand in the kitchen or pantry.

tap the edges in with a hammer.
Fill hole with "One Time" filler.
Lightly sand.
Paint
