How to fix hole in wall left from curtain rod

We have an older mobile home. Curtain rod came down. Numerous attempts to fix failing because no stud there. Now I have a hole and no way to fasten a rod. Command strips don't even hold. I am dig challenged

    Have you tried Drywall screws. They simple screw into the existing hole and then a real screw will screw into it.

    Anytime you need to hang something on a wall and no stud you need to use some type of anchor for the screw. Dana's suggestion is best.

    If you can find some trim wood that you can install horizontally behind the curtain, but where the screws need to go in, you could install it and make sure you get it screwed into or fastened to the wall studs. It would be kind of like a chair rail or a picture rail material. You could probably paint or stain it to blend in with the present wall color or trim colors. Then reinstall the curtain rod. Trailers should be made with blocking behind the paneling where there is to be curtain rods, towel bars, tp holders, etc.,

    so that screws have something solid to hold onto.

    Try Mollie bolts in the wall where there aren't studs. If your not sure how to hang them, go to the library and get a book containing this type of project. The reference desk can help you.
