How to keep a brick wall from shedding?
The exposed brick wall in my kitchen is really attractive but it "sheds" granules of cement. What can I use to seal the wall??

I would use a penetrating grout sealer on the mortar joints. Grout is basically cement based so it should work in mortar joints. Apply it to the joints with a paint brush.

First, you'll need to clean the wall with a mild masonry stain remover or detergent solution. Rinse, then allow the brick and mortar to dry thoroughly before applying any kind of sealer. Among the longest-lasting brick sealers are those made with polyurethane or acrylic, which can give the brick a slight sheen.. It may be possible to paint or seal your bricks with concrete sealer to prevent surface deterioration.
I will check out your suggestions. Many thanks!
