How to properly caulk newly installed shower doors?

My husband and I just installed new sliding shower doors in the master bathroom but would like to know the best way to caulk the metal to prevent water from seeping through.

Usually they tell you to put a light bead of silicone on the door frames to seal it, but in lieu, you could run a small bead on the inside of the shower door frames, let it set up for 24 hours.

A bead of caulk on the inside all around the frame and shower walls. A wet finger to smooth it out.

Thanks William, makes sense to me. Unfortunately my "Tool Man" husband used an abnormal amount of clear caulk inside and outside of the metal.....looks horrible. Drives me Nuts!

Be sure to use a clear caulk and not a colored or white. That way the metal doesn't get mucked up and any mistakes or bumps are not as obvious.

A lot of people think more is better. But over time it will start to peel. He'll (HA HA ) have remove all the caulk, clean the area with rubbing alcohol, and just a small bead on the inside frame.
