Is copper sheeting able to take the heat as a backsplash?

I want it behind our gas stove and oven. We don't use the back burners hardly ever. But we do use the oven on 450 degrees at times.

Yes it can withstand the heat from the oven. What are you applying this to dry wall ?

This should pose no problem at all.

the melting point of copper is 1984 degrees F, so I'm pretty sure you will be fine ;) however, be careful of any finishes on the copper. For example there could be a poly, oil, or other coating sprayed on it it keep it the untarnished color.

I have a neighbor who put a copper backspash around the main counters in his kitchen. It was gorgeous when it had a nice copper sheen. Since then, the elements have done their thing, and the pretty copper look has been replaced by a dark metal look. The guy who installed this is a perfectionist, so he researched it and did everything that was recommended. He now regrets his decision and is planning to pull it out and go with a different material for the backsplash. It's a lovely idea but based on what I've seen (with my own eyes even) I wouldn't do it.
