I heard to seal the floor/wall helps. Also hanging a large quilt/hanging rug/blanket floor to ceiling.
How about a project that includes carpet squares! Just design your pattern and staple to the wall. That should muffle the sounds.
at a big diy box store Mnrd i found acoustical panels. the down side is they are ugly. do the carpet sq. thing. much more attractive.

White noise is probably the simplest method. I saw an inexpensive box that produces soothing sounds in the candle and tabletop water feature aisle today at Walmart. Another way is a small bubbling table water feature. I would also consider mounting heavy drapes on that wall or hanging a lovely quilt. Insulation usually helps.
Cork is a good sound deadner. You can get them at box stores or walmart. They come either peal and stick or you can pin them.
Stick on carpet squares. Cover wall in batting, then hang curtains wall-to-wall to cover that.

Hang drapes on that wall.
Soundproof panels usually range from $25 upwards. Decorate if needed.
