What's an easy and cheap way to fix small holes in a wall?

Painting daughter's bedroom and have a lot of thumbtack holes.- easy and cheap way to fill in holes that will be sturdy, just in case she tries to tack again.

    Spacling should do it. Why not make her a giant framed corkboard for her walls, so she doesn't do this, again?

    anything that small I use drywall compound on my fingertip, white walls rarely need paint. Wait 10 min and go over it with a damp washcloth.

    If they are very tiny, I have used white toothpaste....let it dry and paint over it. Spackling or compound works also but if I am in a hurry I just use white toothpaste. May have to let it dry and do it again because may shrink when dry but so does spackling and compound I think.

    My sister, who used to be a painter, found that painter's caulk would fill in small and even large nail holes. The caulk is easily smoothed with a wet fingertip.
