Garage door is fairly new with no inside rails in which to slip in insulation panels.

There are insulation kits that can be used on the door(s). No need for any kind of inside rails(?) Other than that, you have not given us much to go on.

We need to know what you are starting with since type of insulation is dependent on the structure and type of heat is dependent on what you have available and what you want to do with the garage. Insulation does not provide heat.

Thanks for your response. Sorry, should have mentioned, I want to insulate the door, don't know what to use or how to attach. I Don't want to heat the garage, just hoping to bring temp a bit higher than 20 degrees at coldest. The side walls are insulated and there is a people door on one side which I am willing to cover as I don't use it. It's been brutally cold this winter.
