What's the easiest way to remove wallpaper remnants?

I removed the wallpaper in my (large) kitchen using a vinegar/water mixture sprayed over and peeled. All of the of colored wallpaper came off easily with this method, but now I have white paper (from the wallpaper not fully being removed) speckled, sporadically all over the walls! Is there an easy way to remove this, rather than having to peel it off one by one?

The bits still left are probably pieces of the wallpaper backing.
I have had success with warm water and a cloth, rubbing gently over the backing paper to remove it
