What's the quickest and least $ way to deal with a ceiling leak?
My washer is on the second floor, and had a minor leak. I've fixed the leak, but am concerned about the popcorn ceiling in my kitchen which is now wet, crumbly and (I'm assuming) asbestos ridden. No way I can afford to have it professionally removed/replaced--I've had estimates. Suggestions for a safe, temporary fix?

Scrape off the messed up area and spray with popcorn ceiling spray found at Lowe’s and Home Depot.
you can get an asbestos testing kit, got mine from a contractor friend. make a few calls, if you are in a newer house it might not be an issue.
Scrape off the crumbling mess. Let it dry out. Then get some matching spray texture and spray the ceiling.
