Connecting light to ceiling fan- how?

No power coming out of 2 wires from fan when connecting light kit.

Are the wires reversed? HAve you checked to see if they are all connected securely?

I would either return it, or call manufacturer for assistance to figure out the problem.

Check your wiring. It may be just the light wires not connected or miss wired.

  Fan is old had for awhile.wanted to add light.fan works,getting power.checked new light fixture and it works
  2 wires coming out of fan are white and blue.wires in light are white and black.did white to white and black to blue.no light
  Im thinking of going direct to power coming out of ceiling
