How can I make sure the light bulb would be safe in a globe shade?
I had the idea of using half of a rather large globe as the lampshade on a floor lamp. How can I use it safely?

Try a Led light as they do not get hot. You could also line the inside of globe by painting with decoupage a heat resistant cover. I was thinking wax paper as it can be used in oven for baking?
The lamp will tell you what type of bulb. Look for it on the socket.
Use LED bulbs
as long as it fits in the globe without touching the glass it's good. LED bulbs do not get as hot, it would be a good choice
