How do I fix my Christmas tree lights?

I strung my Christmas tree with working lights. I checked them all, leaving them lit as I put them on. I decorated the tree entirely and it worked fine for a few days. Then one day, out of the blue all the lights blinked off. I have checked the outlet and that isn't the problem. Is there a way short of taking all the lights off, to figure out the problem?

    Hi there,

Try changing all the bulbs individually just to check it is not one of them that has caused them to stop working, otherwise check you have the right fuse in the plug or the right watt bulbs in the string of lights.

OOHHH the joys of the Holidays! Some lights don't work if just one bulb is loose or broken you'll need to find the one(yeah have fun!) and replace it,some have fuse in plug part it opens so you can replace, maybe prongs on plug aren't tight in socket take it out and bend them in or out just a little then plug back in to see. Maybe short in wire somewhere this usyually happens by plug part check the connectors to make sure they aren't cracked, broken or pulled loose. I hope it's an easy fix might be easier for replacement to get the nets and put over tree.Make sure the lights are UL rated. Hope it works out.

Alex, there are so many things that could be wrong. The first thing I would do is check the circuit breaker. Here are some videos that I hope will help you.

The mini lights have fuses but they also have a bulb that controls the set; usually the first one at the plug end. If you plugged them one to other then try the first bulb of the set closest to plug in wall. I think it's a special made for the job and can be picked up where you buy replacements for the set.
