Lessen brightness of halogen lights.
Just installed canister halogen lights and they are WAY TOO BRIGHT...even when dimmed ( only dims by 10%). Can't replace them as it is a brand new ceiling. Do we have to live with our " runway" guest bedroom?

Do they have light fixtures? You can find a dark light fixture to cover the lights with so that they are less jarring in their brightness -

It might be a bit expensive, but you can replace or swap out the existing lightbulbs to something less "operating room" brightness. Choosing lighting can be tricky - what looks good in a showroom is always much different in your space. There is a lot of science that goes into lighting. I used the new dimmer led conversions that are available they seem to work fine the dimmer will have to be led compatible to work.
