Replacing cord on pendant light

Anna B
by Anna B
I have a 1964 pendant light in my kitchen. I like the light, but the cord it hangs from is dirty and frayed. Is there a place to buy a replacement cord? Is it difficult to replace one? Thanks

Any hardware store sells replacement cords. Take down & take apart. Remember how you take apart or take pictures as taking apart. And put new wire in. Check Google to show you or library for book.

    Good luck.

Hardware store or home center. Take it down and take it with you when you go. They'll match you up with what you need and instruct how to replace it. Ace Hardware is so helpful they may even do it for you for free.

  • Any hardware store or home improvement store will have what you need. No it is not hard! You can do this! Just be safe when disconnecting - make sure power is off to the light.

I would check with your local hardware store for parts. Take a photo of how you take it apart to replace the cord so you can get it back together properly!
