DIY Mixture to Restore Dry Wood

Easy
I've written about this easy homemade solution to restore dry wood once before here at Hometalk, but I recently did project #2 and thought it was worth sharing too! I have a little wooden basket that I use in my bathroom to keep things organized. But because it's in the bathroom it's prone to getting water splashed on it which had taken its toll on the finish over the years.
My homemade fix is to make a mixture of equal parts mayonnaise, lemon juice, and olive oil.
When you rub this mixture onto dry wood, it really does a great job of moisturizing it, hiding water spots, and just making it look like new again. Here's a "Before" picture of the dried out wood on my little basket . . .
And here's an "After" picture showing the improvement.
So if you've got some tired looking dried out wooden items in your home, some mayo, lemon juice, and olive oil (which you probably already have around the house anyway) might just do the trick to give it new life.

@Bev @ The Make Your Own Zone sounds simple enough and I have just the item that would benefit from this method. Thanks for sharing.

My mom used to use mayo with warm towels on my hair to moisturize. I'm going to try this on my solid wood interior doors
