How can I restore a shiny surface to a dull vanity top?

Question

We have just purchased another home and the vanity top is very dull.  There is no shine left on it at all.  I presume that a too harsh scouring powder may have been used before.  Is there any way to restore a shiny surface ?

Rejuvenate from Home Depot. I use it on my Grandma's dining room table and on my counter tops.

I just ordered a product from HSN called reclaim. It's paint for dull or even shiny cabinets tables etc. No sanding, primers, just clean table well and paint with reclaim. One quart will do 12 cabinets, so I just got mine and plan to go over my shiny old wood stained dining room table and six chairs. Going to do them in off white . I'm really excited how easy this will be. No prepping except washing down, no sanding, no primer, or seal. Just put two coats. on. It bonds, primes, seals.

I use a product called Gel-Gloss I bought it at Home Depot for around $ 7.00 a can that last or over a year, works very well

Lightly sand for smoothness.  Polyurethane in gloss does it for me and also protects!  Good luck...hugs

I use a product called Countertop Magic and also Kitchen Magic. These are like spray polish for your countertops. I use them in the kitchen and bath.
