Yes. You can detach most legs from table tops. When you do this,. you can see how to reattach the legs to a new top.
If you are using a 1/4 inch or less new top, no problems. Use rubber cement on both the top of the table and the new piece. You need to weight it down to secure. Then use a banding of some sort to cover the raw edge of the new top. Anything thicker than 1/4" will make the table too tall for comfortable use.
