How can I keep bookcase & cabinet from getting scratched by chairs?

I have kid chairs that back up against my bookcase on one end and the storage cabinet on the other end. I put decorative duct tape, but chairs eventually scratched it off. I don't have space in my class to move any or rearrange any of the items.

Try glueing some felt pieces to the backs of the chairs.

having a picture might help. are the kids sitting around a table? is this room doing double duty? changing the table to either shorter, where kids are sitting on the floor, or making the table narrower to accommodate the chairs.

How about using the protectors that you put on table legs. 2 per chair at the top of the back at the side. if chairs are plastic curved back, put it at the center of arch of curve. You might have to drill a hole or 2 & use screws to put these in place. This should stop the scratches, but might leave rubber skid marks unless you match the color of the floor protectors to the color of the book case. I hope that this helps.

They are the pads/ glides that you put on kitchen chairs to protect limolium/ vinyl from getting scratches/ scuff marks. I know for a fact the Ace & True Value Hardware carry these.

On the bottom of the legs of the chair? My problem is the back of the chair because they lean it on the shelf and door and it scratches the paint off. Thanks though.
