How can I make my cedar board ( not shakes) finish last longer . ?

Stain has to be done too often. Any new products?

Finish it, and apply polyurethane or flexseal clear.
A light sanding will make it look like new.

I prefer oil-stains on cedar myself, and look for one that says its UV resistant.
