Fill the holes with wood puddy, then sand when dry. Touch up with matching paint, or pant the whole rail a different color. Afterwards protect with poly. They make paint safe for children.

I know there are paints and possibly sealers that are safe for babies, but if you have a biter, I'm not sure about wood putty. Click below if your crib is wood to see what this person did. What I liked is that she put a plastic cover over the final job. I'm guessing that this is a special product made for baby cribs. Wishing you the best.

I agree with Linda. I would never use wood putty of any possible harmful compound. Love the steam idea to remove bite marks. Most of them would be shallow so it should work. The rail guards are a big plus.
