If they are wood, you may need to sand and refinish, Janine.
If the cabinets are warping the best way is to replace them. If they are not warping and still in good condition you can paint them to brighten them up. :)

What are they made out of?solid hardwood,MDF with laminate,metal?? It will matter on which way to help you
