How do I remove or repair water stains on my wood dining room table?

    Hi Diane, Unfortunately, depending on how deep the stain is, you will usually have to sand down the table if the water mark is right in the wood itself. If you have a top coat on the table you could always try sanding just it and refinishing the top coat. Another option is to paint the table to cover it up.

    Have you tried Restor-a-finish? I used it on an old wood desk and it did amazing things for the water stains. :)

    People have recommended a hot iron and towel process, of which I am “chicken” to try on my prized antique.

    You may be able to lightly sand then use a bit of wood stain to cover the water marks. Try it in a hidden area first to make sure the color matches... I hope this helps!
