How do I remove the white stains left on my wood table from hot food

    Try plain white toothpaste in a circular motion with a micro-fiber cloth

    If the mayo trick does not work, you have damaged the finish. You know where this is going, right?

    Place a cloth over the stain. Use an iron on the warm setting and iron over the cloth. You can use white (not gel) toothpaste and a damp cloth. A dab of toothpaste on the cloth and rub in a circular motion.

    I have used the mayo thing for years - yeah, my kids don't learn - and it works just fine! Just be sure you are using mayonnaise and not the other stuff. Put a fairly good amount on the stain, maybe a teaspoon, rub it in, let it sit for about 30 seconds and wipe it off. You may have to do it a couple of times. You have nothing to lose by trying the mayo thing, except a bit of mayo. Good luck.
