Lisa, I've successfully used 3M leather repair kits. I prefer the kit that comes with several pots of liquid vinyl so that I can blend my own color. The repair is done in stages. First there's mending tape that goes on the back of the tear. Then blend your color. Add thin layers of liquid vinyl until the repair is closed over. Lastly, the kit comes with grain stamps that blend to the original leather. It's tedious, but fulfilling! 😂
the kits work very well, have used them when putting a car up for sale.
Those kits are the only way I have heard that works.
