How do I repair a glass leg on a foot stool?
I have antique foot stool that beautiful aqua colored glass leg. My granddaughter has broken one of the legs off my throwing it onto a tile floor. The break is fairly clean. My concern is how can it be repaired for ‘forever’ use! The diameter where to break occurred is approximately 6 inches. I want the repair to be very secure😘do I need to take it to a specialist or can it be a DIY? TIA

Glass is very hard to repair because the surface is very smooth. I haven't used it on something that large of a surface, but I have had good luck with two glues. One is Zap CA glue, it comes in three drying times, fast, medium and slow. I like the slow, it is thicker, but needs support to stay in place until it bonds, just make sure you wipe off excess on any of them right away. I find it through places like Tower Hobby and other hobby places that deal in things like RC planes, models, etc. where you need a strong holding glue. The other is gorilla glue, it now comes in clear and it has excellent holding power. Again, you want to take off any excess right away, as the glue expands, or you will not get it off. You will need to support the area until it sets. I hope this helps you repair your antique stool.
Hello Yayaof6,
Depends on how much you love it! My first port of call would be to see if I had insurance that covered accidental damage to furnishings on Household. My next would be to go visit a Glazing Co. that made Mirrors and Cut Glass and ask if they could and would consider such a project, and if so how much would it cost to fix. My third course would be to visit Antique Restorers, and my fourth would be to buy some Glass Glue. Good luck!
Use a two part glass epoxy glue or super glue for glass.

Thanks so much!
Use a resin epoxy (Two part epoxy that has to be mixed) that Is meant for bonding glass!
