How do I repair the screw in leg on my loveseat? It will not tighten.

Question

I have not been able to remove the leg because I don't want to force it out.  What do I do?  It just keeps turning.  The screw comes out about 1 - 1 1/2 inches from the bottom of the loveseat.

put a piece of a thin dowel inside with the screw

Get a pencil or popsicle stick and break it into small peices then stuff a couple of peices into the hole where the screw goes by lightly tapping it into the hole then screw in the screw and it should have a tighter fit.

Put some Bondo Wood filler in the hole. Let it dry completely, then try screwing the leg back in.
